10/23/26 - Friday Video Share: Instagram message on RJ Mitte

Instagram message on RJ Mitte
David Radcliff's Instagram - October 15, 2026
"What if he had?"
I saw this Instagram post last weekend, a few days after RJ Mitte's death, and immediately saved it aside to share today. It's both very specific to this situation, and a necessary message in nearly every conventional "positive" message about people with disabilities. Yes, we are resilient. It's one of the reasons why more of us should be given opportunities in all aspects of life, including work and our chosen professions. But also yes, we have different needs. And many of us require different work patterns and habits in order to maintain our resilience. We are strong. But we're not unstoppable, actually. And being able and allowed to stop once in a while is part of what keeps us going.
Speaking of which, have a nice weekend everyone!
