Two years!

Two years ago today, I posted the first issue of my new disability-themed newsletter, Disability Thinking Weekday. I started out with a few legacy subscribers from my first attempts at a newsletter. As of today, there are over 1,300 subscribers, including 38 who help sustain this project with paid subscriptions. For the most part, doing this newsletter has more than met my expectations.

  • It's got a structured format that's simple and brief enough that I'm actually able to post an issue every weekday, give or take a sick day or the occasional week off.
  • By helping readers keep up on disability content and disabled creators, I'm better able to keep up with them myself.
  • I'm able to share some of my thoughts on what's happening in disability issues and culture, which at the very least helps me figure out what I actually think about these things.
  • I enjoy doing Disability Thinking Weekday. And I'm pretty sure at least some of you enjoy it too.

In the year ahead I hope to add a new feature or two. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, if you find this newsletter valuable, you can boost its development by commenting and "liking" it, sharing it with other people you know, and if you can, by contributing financially, using the buttons below. Your help and support is essential, and much appreciated!

Disability Thinking Weekday is a Monday-Friday newsletter with links and commentary on disability-related articles and other content. Please like, share, comment, and subscribe — for free, or with a paid subscription. A free subscription brings a newsletter to your email each weekday, and gives you access to Comments. Benefits of paid subscription also include:

  • A monthly recap with links to all of the previous month's shared articles, organized by topic.
  • Listing as a supporter, and a link to your website if you have one.
  • You can recommend one disability-related article for me to share per month in a weekday post.
