Disability Reddit Got Me Feeling Some Kinda Way…
Molly Burke - June 16, 2026

I won't try to comment on each of the specific stories Molly talks about in this video. They are all interesting and fairly typical of the range of things disabled people experience and feel in everyday life. And Molly's responses are well thought out and expressed. They do tend to suggest that she comes from a "can-do" attitude that for many disabled people is empowering, but for some can come across as a kind of possibly unintentional victim blaming. Still, Molly's understanding of the systemic failures of benefits systems in the US indicate that she absolutely gets that ableism exists, and that many barriers we face are not easily solvable by personal positivity and hard work alone.

The more important reason I'm sharing this video is that I have just rediscovered Molly Burke's YouTube Channel, and I'm looking forward to seeing more, including interviews with other disabled people that look interesting. I am also intrigued by the idea of reviewing and discussing disability Reddit posts. I don't do Reddit either. Maybe I should. What do you all think? What are your experiences with disability-related Reddit threads? Let me know at: apulrang@icloud.com.
