It's interesting to see how a disabled candidate addresses a broad range of issues, while also discussing their disability in positive, politically relevant ways. It's also good to see how political commentators who aren't fully immersed in disability issues handle the topic when it intersects with mainstream politics. What impresses me the most is that Turek is able to bring up and explain some fairly complex and "niche" disability issues with a non-expert, and do it well. He's certainly got more to say about disability than just his inspirational story and a bunch of fuzzy, non-specific cheerleading for disabled people.
