There's a new British TV show coming up on PBS that looks interesting ...

Patience Part 1 (2025) - Official Trailer - Season 1

New Movie Trailers - May 28, 2025

I love British police procedurals. So a new one centered on an autistic character working with police looks promising to me. It's encouraging that the autistic character is apparently played by an autistic actor. But will the Patience character's autism be naively depicted as a "superpower," and resistance to her involvement interpreted as just cartoonish ableism? Or, will the show do justice to the nuances of autism – as neither a pathetic tragedy, nor a sprinkle of wild talent and pixie dust. I look forward to finding out.
