Proposition: No matter who they target and for what supposed reason, agents of authoritarian governments pose a real danger to people with disabilities. And when any group of people is the focus of racism, xenophobia, or other forms of social anger, any disabled person who encounters this phenomenon – even accidentally – will see everyday, causal ableism amped up into rage and abuse. Some 0f us are, obviously, safer than others. But none of us are as safe as many of us tend to think.
