This film has been out for several months, but is only just about to debut on the more easily and widely accessible platform of Apple TV. It's about Judy Heumann, one of the key leaders in the founding of the modern U.S. disability rights movement. Most of the reviews I've seen by disabled people who have seen the movie have been positive. But I did see some discussion of whether the film takes too much of a liberty by suggesting that Judy was vulgar as well as assertive – that she swore a lot. I never met Judy Heumann. I don't know if she used profanity much. I can easily imagine that she didn't, or that she did. It doesn't make much difference to me. But it would be interesting if the film did exaggerate this one aspect – maybe thinking that part of being a "badass" is saying ass, and shit, and fuck a lot. It would be a very movies decision to make, creatively. In any case, the trailer looks good. I look froward to seeing the whole film.
