1/2/26 - Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2026!
I don't think we can call 2025 a good year for much of anyone, especially for people with disabilities. But it was a pretty decent year for this newsletter. The move from Substack to Ghost went smoothly. Financial support from readers has shaped up quite well. And the model itself held up. From my perspective at least, choosing, sharing, and commenting on three disability-related items each weekday continues to be a good and sustainable way to keep me engaged in disability life beyond my own. I hope it's done something like that for all of you, too.
There are no linked articles today. Instead, I want to start 2026 with a survey. I'm looking for feedback on possible changes or additions to Disability Thinking Weekday. They include:
- Monthly interviews with interesting people in disability culture and activism.
- Switching to publishing two or three times per week, rather than every weekday.
- Essays on disability topics by me, and / or outside writers.
- More, or fewer links in the three main categories: disability activism, disability culture, and practical information.
Some of these ideas are recycled from last year ... changes that I considered but never got around to. Others are new. Either way, I really want to know what you all think of them. If there is strong support for one or more of these ideas, I'll do my best to make them happen before the year is over. To complete the survey, click the button below:
Your feedback is important. I will keep the survey open at least through the end of January and include the button in each day's newsletter this month. Please do take a few minutes to complete it.
As always, you can also email any comments, ideas, or questions to me at: apulrang@icloud.com.
On to the new year!
